COST SAVINGS

The Halo Seal unique design allows the core to be detached from the outer ring and replaced, reducing the life cycle cost of the gasket considerably and eliminating the dramatic price differential between a Kammprofile and a spiral wound gasket.

Further savings can be made by recycling of the sealing core: the facing layer can be removed, the Kammprofile profile checked and cleaned, and a new facing layer applied. This can be done at the supplier or within the vicinity of the plant.

A detachable core also delivers environmental benefits. Gaskets are traditionally thrown away after flange disassembly and a new product installed. All components of the Halo Seal, with the exception of the soft facing layer, can be recycled ensuring virtually no wastage.

LOWEST EMISSIONS

The Halo Seal utilises Kammprofile technology to deliver the lowest emission performance of any semi-metallic gasket. The product is designed to remain leak free even under the severest conditions of fluctuating temperatures and pressures. In a typical industrial plant which contains thousands of flanges, the low emission technology of the Halo Seal can significantly reduce the environmental impact of the facility.

The Halo Seal has a further advantage of being able to seal at seating stress levels normally associated with softer sheet materials. Even when loaded relatively lightly, the conformable facing layer compresses into the grooves of the core and seals against the flange ensuring a tight seal. This means that applications that have in the past been sealed successfully with sheet materials can now be accommodated by the Halo Seal.

The Halo Seal is a high integrity gasket that can be employed in the full range of flange pressure classes. The combination of thin facing layer with alloy core makes it virtually impossible to overcompress the Halo Seal in standard flange applications.

REDUCED INVENTORY

The Halo Seal is designed to accept a common sealing element for each pipe size, regardless of pressure class or international flange standard. This leads to a reduction in inventory, especially for those plants which utilise a number of different flange standards and pressure classes. Additional benefits to stock management can be achieved by recycling of the Halo Seal core.

The Halo Seal can be employed successfully in flanges which traditionally are sealed by sheet materials, yet it also delivers high integrity sealing in heavily loaded applications. This wide range in sealing capability means that Halo Seal can replace all the different gasket types used within a facility, reducing inventory markedly.

The common sealing element of the Halo Seal minimises the risk of installing the wrong gasket into a flange. The locating tab of the guide ring ensures correct assembly of the gasket, reducing the risk of flange leakage.
